Shalini George Interiors was born from pure passion for the world of architecture, design and interiors. After I completed my MBA with a specialisation in Marketing, I came across this field when we bought our first home. I was so engrossed in the process and realised that my natural instinct was to envision spaces and really enjoyed colours and textures.

I went on to complete a Cert IV in Interior Design & Decoration before setting out to establish the business in November 2014. I have been given opportunities to do projects overseas and travel the world sourcing materials for those projects.

Through study, I have learned to appreciate a lot of different design styles, but I think the ones I gravitate towards is actually a combination of Mid Century Modern and Art Deco with classic touches. Don’t ask me why but its probably to do with the coffee table books we had back home with these styles when I was a little girl in the 1980s. It somehow captured my imagination and I guess the reason for what I do today must have started then.

I live with my husband and two girls in a country town called Traralgon which is situated in Gippsland, Victoria. But that does not stop me from getting around for work. I offer services in Melbourne and around Gippsland, and now in this day and age, virtual design is also at the tip of our fingers.
